Volunteer
Want to give back to your community? There are many volunteer opportunities at Conover Nursing and Rehab.
Thinking about volunteering but don’t know where to start? Here are some questions to help you figure out what you could do based on your own gifts, talents and interests.
Do you like making people smile?—GREETER
CNRC’s newly redesigned lobby and reception desk is the perfect position for upbeat, positive personalities. This position has multiple opportunities to impact others by answering and directing calls, welcoming each visitor that comes into the facility with a friendly smile and helping meet the needs of our residents, families and visitors. A fabulous volunteer environment accented by the sounds of our majestic waterwall!
Musically inclined?—MUSICIAN
CNRC invites you to share your musical talents with our residents. We have a piano and sound system, and can accommodate whatever else is needed. No matter what your musical gift, we will find a way to let you perform. And if interested, you may host a sing-along program where you can lead the residents in music and song.
Spiritually driven?—DEVOTION LEADER
CNRC welcomes all religious and spiritual groups. Come lead a devotion individually or with a group, or host a Sunday school class. We at CNR believe in the importance of spiritual growth, and strongly encourage anyone to come share it with the residents.
The competitive type?—GAMER
CNRC challenges you to play a game with the residents. You may organize a game of bingo, poker or whatever drives your gaming heart.
Creative or enjoy hands-on activities?—CRAFTSPERSON
CNRC has the resources for you to host your own craft time with the residents. Help them make pieces of art or whatever you are inclined to do. Our Activity Room is stocked with supplies available upon request.
Social butterfly?—HOST/HOSTESS
CNRC encourages you to become a host/hostess in the dining hall. It is a comfortable and open environment in which to get to know the residents.
More of a one-on-one person?—BUDDY
CNRC realizes the importance of friendship. We want each resident to feel happy and loved, and there is no better way than to have good friends who encourage and support you. Come in and visit with individual residents and chit chat about days past and current events. Make an impact, if only for that moment.
Have a passion for reading?—STORYTELLER
CNRC has volunteer opportunities for the reading enthusiast. Come out and read to residents one-on-one or in group settings. Choose a book/magazine/newspaper from our in-house library or bring your own.
None of these sound appealing to you?
CNRC welcomes you to bring your own ideas and suggestions. Come out and lead your own activity! Contact our Activity Director and set up an appointment to discuss your interests and thoughts. We are open to suggestions.
